For the month of October, Australians are being encouraged to go sober and support Life Education in their mission to raise awareness of the issue of binge drinking. What better time to include some alcohol-free paleo mocktails!

Life Education and the Healthy Harold initiative has been functioning in Australia for 30 years teaching young Australians the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Healthy Harold, the loveable giraffe has become a cherished household name to many young Australians. To raise money for Healthy Harold to grace the playground for 700,000 Aussie kids, and raise binge drinking awareness, Life Education have created OcSober!

Ocsober is a month long alcohol fast where you lose the booze to raise money for the Healthy Harold program. Here are some delicious and paleo mocktails recipes so you can lose the booze but not your social status!

paleo mocktailVirgin Ginger Mimosas

Ingredients

  • Ice (optional)
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 cups soda water
  • 5 cm piece of fresh ginger, sliced
  • 1 orange, peeled and divided into slices

 

Instructions

Add the ice and orange juice, then top off with soda water. Garnish with fresh ginger and orange slices.


Kiwi Mania

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kiwi fruit, sliced
  • 30ml cloudy apple juice
  • 10 ml, fresh lime juice
  • 30 ml, sparkling mineral water
  • 3 mint leaves

 

Instructions

Mix all ingredients in glass with ice and stir until cold. Garnish with mint and enjoy!
