Shop Small, Shop Local

Being paleo isn’t just about eating from certain food groups. It’s as much about what you eat as it is about where you eat and where you source your food. Personally, I’m a big believer in supporting small businesses, especially when I see them doing something they are so passionate about.

Many of the small businesses that I know in the food, health and wellness space are people just like me – they are doing it because they have discovered something so good that they want to share it with the world.

A while ago I was invited to take part in the American Express 2014 Shop Small Campaign, and since it was a chance for me to promote the small businesses that I support, I jumped at the chance.

I’ve put together a video featuring some of my favourite places I shop at in my local area. You can also find a full list of my favourite local real food spots in my Shop Small profile.

Shop Small is a national movement committed to supporting the thousands of small businesses that are the heart of our communities. Shop Small brings together support from the business community, governments and consumers, encouraging them to support small businesses.

The more people that show their support for this movement, and the more people that know about it, the more people will get out and shop or dine at small businesses in their local community.
