180 Nutrition Superfoods

180 Nutrition
180 Nutrition make a range of natural food supplements suitable for the modern paleo lifestyle.

Each week I spend several hours preparing my own meals and sourcing my ingredients from trusted places. This does take up quite a bit of my time, and sometimes it’s just not practical.

I came across a local company, 180 Nutrition, about 9 months ago. 180 Nutrition is an Australian owned company who produce a 100% Natural Protein Superfood. The two founders of 180 Nutrition, Guy and Stu, are health crusaders who truly want people to be happier and healthier.

Most of the other protein powders on the market have a long list of ingredients that I’ve never heard of and sound like they belong in a laboratory and not in my body! But in reviewing the 180 Nutrition range, I realised that the products actually contained all natural raw food ingredients. Ingredients that I know and use regularly in my food prep.

180 NutritionWhat this meant for me is that I could now make superfood smoothies wherever I went. I travel a lot and I get busy, so at these times it’s a really convenient way of getting the right nutrients and not having to make poor nutritional choices out of sheer desperation, lack of time or no preparation.

The 180 Nutrition range uses ingredients like flaxseed, almond meal, sunflower seeds, coconut, cacao, chia and pepitas. All this is supplemented with a natural protein – either a grass fed WPI (whey protein isolate) or a pea-based protein (vegan-friendly variety).

It’s not often that I step out and personally recommend a brand, but this is one brand that I fully endorse and enjoy on a regular basis. The products are delicious and nutritionally balanced, and are made right here in Australia.

It’s a product of convenience – and I mean this is a good way. If you lead a busy lifestyle or travel a lot, it’s one way that you can maintain a healthy, nutrient-rich diet wherever you are and whatever you are doing!

I use the 180 Nutrition Grass Fed Whey Protein in my smoothies, but I also use it as an ingredient in baking! It’s a fantastic base for protein muffins, pancakes and home-made bars. Check out their website for some great recipes for inspiration.

This is a paleo site and you’re promoting protein powders that use dairy, yeast, and legumes? Am I missing something?

      Paleo Foodies

      Hi Pete,

Thanks for your message and we appreciate the feedback. Paleo Foodies provides inspiration for people living a paleo lifestyle. We prefer to view paleo as a lifestyle and not a diet. Sometimes we feature products and ingredients that are paleo-inspired and popular among many of our followers. As many of our followers lead a busy and active lifestyle, some supplements are beneficial and quite a few people in the community enjoy using protein supplements. 180 Nutrition is one of the only proteins that is completely natural. They provide two varieties – a whey-based protein where the whey is sourced from grass-fed animals, and also a pea-based protein for anyone with more complicated intolerances or anyone following a vegan diet. Most of our other recipes and product recommendations are completely free from any form of dairy, grain or legume. We hope you find our website useful and we value your feedback.

      Yours in health,
      Ali Sims (Paleo Foodies founder)
