Feed Me – Real Food Co, takeaway paleo meals

Simple, vibrant meals with flavour to boot.

What ever happened to meat and veg dinners? It’s what many of us were brought up on and what we love. Yet when we are busy or don’t feel like cooking, why do we often opt for fancy food or ‘cheat meals’?

Proving that simple, home-style cooking can be just as exciting take-away as when prepared at home, Feed Me – Real Food Co is exactly as it’s name suggests – providing real food that will satisfy.

A little while ago I connected with the founders - two gorgeous souls, Lucy Lichtenstein and Michaela O’Leary. Passionate about real food and healthy living, we had a lot in common and I was excited to hear of their new food venture. Feed Me (as it’s affectionately known) was brought about after the two discovered a lack of healthy pre-prepared meal options that catered for the paleo lifestyle.

What’s special about Feed Me?

Lucy and Michaela don’t take shortcuts. Their ambition isn’t to grow into a large enterprise serving multiple markets. They simply want to provide a better option for their local community and they are doing that in leaps and bounds.

Their ‘meat and veg’ based meals are made fresh at the start of each week in a dedicated commercial kitchen. They are then packaged and ready for pick up or delivery to their customers, who can enjoy the meals fresh or freeze them for later.

The food is made using quality ingredients sourced from local farmers and producers. They believe strongly in paleo principles of eating.

Menu

The menu changes seasonally, but there are currently five dishes on offer and a couple of sweet treats as well.

The Balsamic Beef is to die for and must be tried! Other choices include a lamb curry, spiced meatballs, smokey spiced pork and a thai chicken curry.

Each meal is perfectly balanced with sides such as fragrant cauliflower rice, fresh seasonal greens and hearty sweet potato slices.

How to order

For Sydney-siders, you can order online and either opt to pick up from their Eastern Suburbs headquarters or pay a small fee for delivery in the CBD area.

For the rest of Australia, although you may not be able to experience Feed Me, there are a number of other meal service producers that cater for the paleo lifestyle in each major city (and stay tuned for a feature of meal service business around Australia soon!)
