Mary Shenouda, The Paleo Chef


Meet Mary Shenouda; a talented chef, published author, and founder of Paleo Chef. She is followed by thousands around the world and consults to high profile clients including some of the biggest sports stars in the US. Talk about a resume!

Mary’s story is incredible and inspiring. After experiencing a horrific cocktail of health issues from a young age and being misdiagnosed by doctors time and time again, Mary took her health into her own hands. She started researching, and what she discovered changed her life.

Finding a clinic that allowed her to send away her blood work with the results returned directly to her (not through a doctor) she starting piecing together the puzzle that doctors couldn’t explain. Her results confirmed that she had coeliac disease and an intolerance to casein (in dairy) and soy. Almost overnight she started to turn around her ill health by following a diet she has come to know as paleo.

Now fighting fit, she lives by the motto “eat clean. play often. crush life.” #eatplaycrush

She enjoys tabata training, drinking scotch on occasion and introducing friends to paleo ice cream (myself included!)

Although she admits she’s not perfect when it comes to her diet (a perfect diet doesn’t exist) Mary is an advocate and role model for the paleo lifestyle. She’s even come up with her own term – PaleYOU – meaning a version of paleo that works for each individual.

She’s outspoken and passionate and asserts:

“If people don’t like what I write, read another blog!”
