‘Give me Love’ raw chocolate superfood smoothie

I recently discovered this hidden gem on a walk to Bondi Junction. It’s one of those places that a friend introduces you to – from the outside it’s very unassuming but after stepping inside you’ll soon realise what all the fuss is about.

What’s good about it?

Opened by raw food chef Julie Mitsios, Earth to Table defines itself as a raw organic vegan cafe, but what got me excited is that everything on the menu is also gluten-free, sugar-free and dairy free. Almost everything is paleo-friendly since it uses only raw ingredients sourced from local growers and suppliers.

You can eat in or take-away, and all meals come in regular or large serving sizes.

Menu

Catering for breakfast, lunch and also offering a range of delectable treats (such as banana cream pie which I am yet to try!) the menu boasts a range of fresh and super-food packed juices, smoothies as well as nutrient-rich meals. Each day there are different specials to try, such as pizza made with an almond base.

‘Grawnola’ with acai & berry

This morning I enjoyed a breakfast of a raw chocolate superfood smoothie (pictured above) and house-made granola – affectionally titled ‘Grawnola’ – with berries, seeds and served with house-made almond mylk.

Where

85 Bronte Road, Bondi Junction

Raw foodies might be interested to know of what seems to be the almost perfect superfood that has just become available in Australia. Baobab Fruit Powder…. certified organic, raw, vegan, ethical trade… More antioxidants than acai berry; more alkalizing than spinach, broccoli and most foods; highest plant source of calcium.. more than twice calcium found in milk; more iron than in red meat; more vitamin c than in 6 oranges; almost 50% fibre (mainly soluble!); …. check it out on http://www.baobabfoodsaustralia.com.au Really great to mix into smoothies; green drinks; add to just about anything! A great find!

  • […] I love the way they cook the meats. Otherwise I would go to the other extreme fresh vegetables at Earth to Table – Bondi Junction or Oneness Cafe – Coogee. Hopefully as demand grows there will be more grass fed / organic / […]
